This is an odd one.

I am an entirely different person in this dream. Is it weird how often I am not me or not in my dreams? I wish I knew what that meant.

I'm sitting in a hotel at a window seat at night. The street outside is shiny, like it was raining earlier (details!). As I look out the window, a woman walks past. She stops and looks up at me. (Reflecting, I think she may have been adult-me.) I decide to go downstairs to meet her. When I get outside, she is gone. I walk around the hotel, trying to find her, but I don't. As I go back upstairs, I am myself all of a sudden.

When I get back to my room, I open the door to find someone else there. She introduces herself as a friend(Emily?)'s aunt. She's oldish and a bit pudgy. For some reason, I must share my room with her.

I think I might actually know the meaning of this one!

I was in a room that was very medical/science-y, like someone combined the room in the Wolverine Origins movie of which there are no good pictures and the inside of a Borg cube. Yes, I'm a nerd. It was kind of dimly lit and mechanical looking, but nothing registered as weird in the dream. I was waiting to be tested to see if I could do something to help someone. I don't remember what it was, perhaps a transplant. I find out that the test will involve me being stabbed in the back with a needle to test something related to my spinal cord. This frightens me more than a little and I freak out and start to cry. I see Will and he hugs me. Some of my other friends are standing in the background, but they are doing nothing more than that. The lady who will be stabbing me is tapping her foot impatiently, so I leave Will and go with her. She does the test thing. It hurts.

It's later now. I am being reprimanded for hugging Will instead of immediately going with the tester lady. It is decided that I must write her an apology letter. I do. Something else happened after I wrote the letter, but I don't remember what it was.

At Driver's Ed, except it is my driveway and we are not driving. Apparently we have to walk/run/not drive around the block. I do. The teacher, an elderly, overweight lady whom I don't recall having seen before, tells us to do it again. Apparently, this time, we are supposed to do anything necessary to get around the block as fast as possible, including running through people's houses and yards. I'm not sure how that makes anything faster, but we all did. I ran into the house of a girl I was friends with years ago (she actually does live about half a block away, albeit on the other side of the street, and her house is therefore fair game), but I can't seem to find her back door. I look everywhere, including upstairs for some reason. I remember wondering where her dog was and now I realize her house was also laid out entirely differently. It isn't until around the third time running down her stairs that I notice every member of her family sitting at their dinner table staring at me. I explain what is going on. Then I wake up.

Shortly before I went to sleep last night, my best friend told me something important. I had a dream that I was walking down a hall at school and went "Holy shit! [Important thing!]" and then I woke up

I'm typing this frantically so I don't forget. Excuse my grammar.

In China, alone, for the same dates that I am going this summer. Leave my hotel with nothing but my clothes and start walking. The only road is a dirt road with pure desert on all sides, even though my mind says I am somewhere near Beijing. Walking, suddenly find myself inside basically a Target. I walk through the store and out the other side, where I find myself in a shady little suburb. Clearly, this is where my grandmother and brother live. I go to see them.

When I arrive at Grandma's house (which is not anything like that house she lived in before she died like six years ago), I let myself in. It's a very, very small house with one main room and a tiny bathroom off to the side and a staircase leading down on the other. There are two water fountains, one of which is labeled "Our Poor Excuse For Water". I taste a little from that one because I am thirsty (I have been walking all this time, you know.) and curious. It tastes like warm, stale water. I spit it out. In the dream, I remember thinking I should because it was marked bad and clearly was not meant to be drank. Now, I remember that one is not supposed to drink the water in China unless it is marked drinkable. Hm.

I go downstairs to see my Grandma. She is standing at the landing of the staircase, looking a little more frail than she was when she was alive, but not by much, and carrying a slightly different cane. I say "Grandma, it's me!" and she screams and throws her cane at me, then runs to curl up on the fetal position in the room at the bottom of the stairs, which looks like a combination of my two grandmother's actual houses. I toss her cane on the floor beside her and she grabs for it before it lands and does not catch it. I'm kinda pissed off and do not help her. I leave.

Back on the street, I start walking away as fast as I can, because I was just abused by the elderly and I am upset. Pretty soon, I want the camera that I left in the hotel. Everything I see is picturesque. Unfortunately, I have no idea where I am and I do not speak French, clearly the necessary language. After focusing and remembering how to say "Do you speak English?" in French, I walk back in the direction I think I came from.

I eventually get back to the store. The first employee I see is standing with several others, who aren't doing much of anything. She is a kind looking oldish lady, so I approach her. I ask her, in French, if she speaks English. She says, in English, that she does not speak English. I start to walk away and she stops me. I inform her that some people learn to say "I don't speak English" without an accent. She and her employee friends laugh a little and then she asks what I need. I tell her I can't remember how to get to my hotel or what it is called. She and her buddies start pointing out buildings in the distance and telling me their names. A lecherous old man employee tells me I should just come stay with him. I tell him no, I have too much luggage. All of the employees tell me I really don't need luggage. The old lady and man mention a hotel whose name seems very familiar. I tell them that I think that is my hotel. They agree to take me there.

We leave the store and walk into a collection of roller coasters. It is not an amusement park because there is no one else there. We board one and suddenly I am by myself about 1000 feet from a hotel I recognize as mine. I start walking towards it. I pass a boy who I have a class with at school and sometimes talk to. I realize he is the brother that was not present at Grandma's house. I think this is the second time I have dreamed of him being my brother, though I think it might have been half brother in both instances. I tell him that I went to see Grandma and she screamed and threw her cane at me. He says something about the recession and thanks me for visiting. We both keep walking. I reach the hotel. I wake up.

Stephen Colbert had written a new book. It was about his animal friends, but I do not think it was directed at children. The cover was bright yellow with a raccoon on it.

Don't mock me.

The impression I get now is that I was reading a very vivid book because I am only in parts of the dream and those parts involve preparing for a trip to my grandmother's house. The book seems to be written in first person from the point of the separated man because I remember the last part of it being from his perspective, but I don't remember the rest of his words. I will split this into "Parts I am not in" and "Parts I am in". Also, someone just commented that my descriptions are getting less detailed. Take THAT! Lastly, some
parts of this (namely the store in parts-I-am-not-in and the general setting.) are very familiar. I think I have had parts of this dream
before. Not all of it, though, because I know I haven't dreamed about Star
Trek or Spring Awakening people before, least of all in the same dream.

Parts I Am Not In:

There is a Ferengi (This is the nerdiest dream I have ever had. Hence the title of this post. Just wait, it doesn't even stay Star Trek.) talking to what I suppose is his crew. As a human captain and his crew approach he says something like, "I'd kill anyone if I had the chance, but a Klingon, I would chase until death to kill!" The captain announces he and his men are supposed to join the Ferengi crew. Cap'n Ferengi tells him to get his horses and meet him at the top of the cliff (Did I mention this exchange is taking place on a bridge going across a lake? Basically, it's a broken bowl of water. Cliff on three sides, water all over except very near the cliff walls and the side there is no cliff. It's very pretty.).

The humans go get their horses. Instead of crossing the bridge, they swim the horses across the lake (It's not very deep. I don't think they ever actually have to swim.) to climb the cliff. All of the horses succeed, except one, who slips at the very top of the cliff. In essence, the horse disappears. I guess my subconscious didn't want to kill it off. Its rider is now dangling by a rope of some sort. He can hear everyone else yelling at him to hurry up, they're all waiting, does he think he's being funny, but they can't hear him when he yells back. His rope slides and he is now face-to-face with a waterfall, behind which is the crew. Crew and separated continue to yell, but the crew seems to be deaf to his pleas.

Suddenly one of them, the only girl, thinks she hears him. From her side of the waterfall, there is glowing from the other side. Not like light, but like a thermal imaging camera. He is glowing light blue, not red/yellow/orange/whatever (very cold). She can hear him more clearly now. She tells him to touch the waterfall. He pokes his hand through. It does not appear on her side. She concludes that he is no longer alive, but a spirit. She tells him to let go. He does. The "book" ends with him waking up in Gideon Glick's arms (NOT like that. Like Glick is his guardian angel or something cheesy like that.). They seem to be in just a big white nothingness (Except there is a floor, also white), wearing white clothes. Everything glows a little bit. It's a very typical "heaven".

Parts I Am In:

In my mother's car with her, my brother, his girlfriend, and lots of luggage. We are going to visit my grandmother (My only remaining grandmother is my father's mother). Brother and I are not excited. We stop at a store that seems to sell everything nerdy, from D&D stuff to POKEMON DEODORANT. The store is located in the side of the cliff from the parts I am not in. On the way inside, I trip and end up rolling like a spy movie hero. Nobody sees me, because the floor is empty. Brother's girlfriend comes up from the lower level on the floor, says hello to me and leaves the store. I look around for a few minutes, then follow suit, only to discover that a search party has been assembled. I ask my brother who it is for. It is for me. They disperse. We get into the car and drive off.
